Triumph & Disaster ‘Old Fashioned Shaving Cream’ and Shaving Brush

These products come in a beautifully designed, sleek black box as part of a set of 4. The design of the box is both elegant and stylish and would look out of place on the shelves of Harrods!

Personally, I am a traditional man when it comes to shaving, I like a manual razor and a nice bottle of Gillette Shaving Gel so using this was quite a treat!

The ‘Old Fashioned Shaving Cream’ was fantastic! It didn’t irritate my skin and a little truly did go along way. It produced an incredibly thick lather that stayed in place and didn’t drip, giving a really good overall coverage with the use of very little product.

On the other hand, the Shaving Brush’ did nothing for me! I found it helped with the application of the Shaving Cream to give a good lather, but it really did irritate the skin on my neck and I found the bristles on the brush both hard and coarse. It felt at times like I was scratching myself with a scouring pad! The skin on my neck is sensitive already so the brush was probably not suited to my skin!

I would continue to use the Shaving Cream as an everyday product as it really did live up to my high expectations, but for me the brush was unnecessary. I understand it is an old fashioned way to shave but it was more of a hindrance to me than a help! This product would be best suited to someone who doesn’t have sensitive skin on their neck.

As for the quality of the shave I got from using this product, I would give it 6 out of 10. I didn’t get as close a shave as what I normally do but this could of been due to the fact that the cream lathers up so thick that a lot of product needs to be removed by the razor before being able to cut the hairs, it did however leave my skin feeling soft and moisturised and I didn’t get a feeling of dry skin like I normally do.

Rich in Volcano Ash, Iron, Magnesium and Potassium – The Rock & Roll Suicide Face Scrub is not for the faint-hearted, this product also doubles-up as a fantastic face mask. This is no brainer, but exfoliation is an essential. The GameFace Moisturiser – Jojoba helps make this unique-smelling moisturiser light and absorbent; Ponga – gives you guys that much needed ‘tightening-effect’ on the skin while Horopito  – One of the worlds oldest flower, which has being around for over 65 years is jam-packed with antioxidants. What more could you ask for!
