AEOS Active Energised Organic Skincare Review

Why is Active Energising Organic Skincare different? Obviously stated in the title but what’s interesting is that they connect colour with skincare.

Using a Colour-Care-System reflects the persons confidence to choose what colour suits the user while allowing the skin to balance at a deeper level rather than looking at the skin from a superficial level. The Blue range is known for its calming effect, someone who needs a little peace in their lives. AEOS blue products are enhanced with the crystal essences of amethyst, turquoise and emerald. Moving on, the Pink range is the colour of kindness,  caring, love and warmth, AEOS pink products are enhanced with the crystal essences of fire opal, rose quartz and rubelite. and finally the Yellow range is the colour of self confidence while encouraging the nervous system happiness, bringing joy like on a warm, summers day! The Yellow range has two different crystal essence blends which interestingly gives off an energetic effect between the harmonising and awakening products. This colour range is known as Colour Significance.

AEOS also use something completely different to any other skin care brand to date, Spagyric Tinctures. The company states; Not effective by the ingredients, manufactured in a beneficial refined form, they provide a medium which may have a direct effect on the human energy field. Now I can imagine people reading this are thinking WTF?! But only time will tell.

Yes, and I know what you are all thinking, what absolute b*******! But in all honestly, I truly believe this.

Following the holistic approach by growing ingredients at the Shire Biodynamic Farm in Lincolnshire; Biodynamic farming is similar to Organic Farming as this doesn’t involve the use of harsh chemicals; synthetics, fertilisers, pesticides, you catch my drift? There is two reasons why Biodynamic is different and possibly better; they use a astrological calendar to know what time/day to plant and harvest resulting in the highest possible quality. The second reason is that Biodynamic farms are Demeter Certified. AEOS also source from other farms across the world. Plants grown this way have more of a positive effect on the raw material used in the process while enhancing AEOS philosophy – look after the soil, feed the skin, nourish the soul.

AEOS is 100% organic and the products contain 0% chemical ingredients or synthetics for that matter. Using cutting edge technology to harvest the finest essential oils, using Vitamin C and combining the use of an ancient spelt grain in all their products known to give users that ever wanted radiance; Spelt oil is actually very rich in Vitamin C, Antioxdiants and Essential Fatty Acids so it’s a very skin loving ingredient. AEOS are truly a unique brand I’ve ever come across.

Now, AEOS have designed a ‘3 Phase System’ which you kind of relate to the Clinique ‘3-Step System’ but think of it as an ‘Organically, friendly version’. AEOS believe that skin should be throughly cleansed, without the feeling of dryness afterwards.

  • Phase 1 – RENEWAL
  • Phase 2 – REBALANCE
  • Phase 3 – REPLENISH

There are two ways you can use this sequence; Swift ‘Time Saver’ Sequence, basically states it in the name, recommended to use this sequence in the morning time when your in that ‘morning rush’.  OPTIMAL ‘Skin Booster’ Sequence which involves a more in-depth cleanse, perfect for that deep evening cleanse, this is then followed by rebalancing by using their delightful Refreshing Hydrating Mist and then using a moisturising skin treatment like the Realive Skin Serum which may I say is an absolute pleasure to use; the key ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid so you know your skin is going to thank you for it!

The company states that all products must be applied onto damp skin; Silly me made the mistake by applying the products onto dry skin and suffered from a terrible breakout, so it’s very important to follow instructions, even in skincare! They also recommend NOT to mix AEOS with synthetic ingredients, they really do mean business! Now for me that’s nearly impossible but Mr. Wharff has been a good boy and has stuck to AEOS guidelines.

So, I’ve been testing this gorgeous Optimal Essentials kit for just over of 2 weeks, and the results are finally in;

The Cleansing Oil Dé-Maq; blended with Sesame, Avocado and Spelt oil – By moistening two cotton pads for each side of the face, I applied one pump on both and gently applied in upwards sweeping motions over my face and neck area, I was shocked at how well it cleansed, the pads were covered in oil and dirt! I’m sure I’ll be repeating this but the scent of AEOS products are incredible; very uplifting, refreshing whilst kinda feeling magical at the same time – remember the neck area is just as important as the face. This cleanser is ideal for dry, dehydrated skin that craves some much needed thirst.

After cleansing, I sprayed the Refreshing Hydrating Mist twice onto my face, whats so brilliant about it is the actual smell! I can honestly say I’ve smelt nothing like it, imagine taking your first step into a field full of Lavender, Orange and Lemon mixed together. If AEOS brought out a fragrance of this I would be the first one in the queue. This fabulous mist instantly conditions and soothes while providing that added moisture, not that you really need it as the cleansing oil really did leave my skin feeling pampered!

Energising Conditioner; An interesting one, this works by encouraging hydration and moisture. St. John’s Wort Extract and White Birch Extract are in the mix known to have potent antioxidants and powerful astringent properties too.

I’m not so surprised the Enriching Moisturiser won the ‘Natural Health Beauty Awards’ in 2012, this super comforting moisturiser is filled with skin-protecting oils; Spelt oil, Jojoba oil, Sweet Almond oil, Argan oil, Rosewater, Lavender Extract, Chamomile Extract, Arnica Extract, Sweet Orange oil, Lemon Myrtle oil, Lemon Tea Tree oil and Lavender oil. Non-greasy, this loving moisturiser locks in hydration too! The colour of the product is actually from 100% plant derived blue camomile flowers, I personally find the colour very pretty!

Dew Facial Wash; Perfect for that much ‘wake me up’ feeling, the key ingredients; nurtured with Lemon and Lemongrass oil, Orange extract, Honey and finally the base-ingredient in all AEOS Products Spelt oil. To use this is pretty neat if you ask me; fill your basin with warm water, then add one or two sprays, don’t worry if your water turns a little blue (I think this is normal), then soak your desired cloth, rinse out the excess water then gently place cloth onto face for a few moments; this will allow the pores to open while preparing the skin for optimal benefit of the next product to follow (preferably AEOS). For me, this was great to use in the mornings before shaving!

After using the above product, I then followed using the Gentle Exfoliant; Very similar to the Gentle Cleansing Lotion, This has to be my favourite of all products I’ve tested from this kit! This creamy, yet gentle exfoliant swept-up the dry areas I was suffering from while leaving skin soft and supple. Jam-packed with skin-goodness organic oils; Hazelnut oil, Argan oil, Sweet Almond oil, Calendula extract, Lavender oil, Lemon Myrtle oil, Avocado oil, Jojoba oil and finally sweet-smelling Rosewater.

Realive Serum; I’ve never stumbled across a name like this before, well does it ‘Realive’ the skin? Not entirely but it sure does pack a punch! The key ingredient Hyaluronic acid; as we all know is an intensive moisture ingredient that helps smoothes those pesky fine lines and wrinkles and promotes a radiant complexion! You can also use this wonder product around the eye area. What more could you ask for? Oh and it’s bloody good at plumping out the skin too!

Want my overall opinion? TRY IT! If you’re looking for something completely new then this is for you! Why not go organic? Hopefully you’ll be able to see and feel the difference like I did.

Colours, 3-steps, It feels a little bit too Clinique for my liking, from an image perspective at least. Really like the idea of the facial wash though, might have to give that a go!

      Hello,
I would highly recommend investing in the Essentials Kit which is £68. Or if your just looking to buy a new cleanser then the Gentle Exfoliant is the one to go for!
