The woman behind Paula’s Choice; Paula Begoun; an author of 20 best-selling beauty books which include: Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without MeThe Original Beauty Bible. Due to her successful books and wide knowledge of good and bad ingredients in cosmetics Paula was lucky enough to be invited on repeated TV appearances from Oprah, The Today Show, 20/20, Dateline NBC, The View, Dr. Oz and CNN.

Paula’s story started at the age of 25 when she noticed her beloved skin-care product contain acetone. She stated ‘That’s nail polish remover! No wonder my skin wasn’t getting better’. I would have loved to know what that skin-care product was.  From then, Paula began intensively researching on ingredient’s that are beneficial for the skin. In 1995, Paula followed her dreams and created Paula’s Choice, with all the knowledge of ingredients, it would be silly not to create her own skin care line.

I do have to admit, I love spending my spare-time on Paula’s website learning what ingredient is safe or not and finding out the real truth about beauty brands.

Watch out brands, the Cosmetic Cop is about!

So, starting off with the review! CLEAR Pore Normalising Cleanser. non-drying, silky refreshing gel that instantly gets to work at tackling those dirty pores while working quickly at removing stubborn make-up. 100% fragrance free, Triclosan; an ingredient in the cleanser that has an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effect on the skin, Panthenol; moisturises while acting as a humectant by hydrating skin deep into the cells. Finally, the natural powers of glycerin attracts moisture on the skin while protecting the outer-layer of the skin from pollution, extreme weather. I was skeptical about using this gel-base cleanser as my skin never agrees with gel consistencies but I was in for a surprise! Skin was left feeling silky and soft once rinsed with water, non of that tight or dry feeling you get from most gel cleansers.

Next product! Skin Perfecting BHA Lotion Exfoliant

A lovingly blend of plant oils; Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil work together by balancing sebum production. One of my favourite ingredients of all time salicylic acid works by exfoliating the top surface of the skin and cleans deep down into the pores while healing present blemishes. I’ve been using this product for a good full week, twice a day and have only noticed a slight improvement on present blemishes but my annoyingly large pores have certainly reduced in size a little, especially on the t-zone.

Finally! The amazing Moisture Boost Daily Restoring Complex SPF 30.

There are so many great things about this product! Non-greasy,  protecting and non pore-clogging. Using stabilised avobenzone, you can trust this product to provide you with great sun protection. What I love about this product is that the soft, soufflé like texture doesn’t at all feel like sunscreen. My only moan is that I wish the product was more hydrating than it states.
