This medicated oil-controlling face mask has certainly made it into my short-list of best face masks – I’m always applying this when I get a flare up of acne; soothing, gentle and healing this mask never fails to fix my skin when it’s in trouble – you don’t wanna mess with this guy!

1% Active Salicylic Acid; this specific ingredient gets deep down and unclogs pores while removing excess oil from the skin while containing soothing plant extracts Aloe Vera + Algae Extract are used to instantly soothe and heal current blemishes. Gentian Root Extract; provides an anti-bacterial + anti-fungal effect on the skin. An interesting ingredient; Laminaria Saccharina Extract – helps eliminate excess sebum production and finally; Kaolin; a natural soft clay, originally discovered at the Kao-Ling Mountain in South-East China, this common used ingredient acts as an drying-effect on the skin while pulling out all the dirt and debris and excess oil from the skin – think of it like a magnet. Kaolin also has the ability to reduce swelling from blemishes.

Once applied to exfoliated, cleansed skin, only a hazlenut amount is needed, the products consistency is somewhat like white paint – thick and easy spreadable, the product soon drys onto the skin giving that tightening-feel. The mask has a very light medicated scent which didn’t bother me – I quite liked it. I left the product on for longer than stated, after 20 minutes, I carefully removed the mask with warm water, the product itself was a little tricky to remove, but after all it’s clay we’re dealing with here. Once the last bits of clay were removed from my face, my angry spots became calmer and the redness appeared less visible, skin was clearer!
