A heavenly silky, oil-free serum that has an ever so slightly tinted finish that is meant to clear pores of the dirt and debris that can encourage the overall pore size.

The scent of the product has a sharp alcohol smell, which did worry me a little as alcohol in a product normally dry out my skin and causes break-outs, so I was being very careful and only applying the product on my t-zone – this is where large pores commonly appear.

So, the key ingredients are as followed;

Salicylic Acid; a common ingredient in acne products used to tackle active blemishes my softening the outer layer of the skin allowing to loosen the dead skin cells while killing off the bacteria flora on the skin, doing this will reduce spots appearing.

Clinique doesn’t say what level of concentration of salicylic acid the serum contains – if the concentration is too low then the ingredient will become ineffective, an ideal range for the pH of Salicylic Acid is 3-4 to become effective on the skin.

An array of healthy, natural plant extracts are included; Rosemary Leaf Extract; St. Paul’s Wort Extract; Sea Whip Extract – a soft coral found in the Caribbean is used for its powerful anti-inflammatory effect. Clary Sage Extract – the oil from this plant is used for cosmetics all over the world but there is little detail on how it can be effective on the skin.
Laminaria Saccharina Extract – brown algae that has the ability to prevent blemishes while keeping serum at a control. Common ingredients Caffeine + Glycerin are also included.

After a week of use; my skin looked smoother + matte, I did notice a decrease in pore size, not instantly but overtime and unfortunately, my pores didn’t look 58% smaller as Clinique stated - if you’re wanting to keep those results then I’m afraid continuous use of the serum is a must.
