Dermablend 3D: next generation foundation for troubled skin.
As a Dermablend convert, I was super excited to hear when a new Dermablend 3D was about to drop in the UK, having loved and treasured the iconic and original Dermablend, it was rather refreshing to hear about Vichy’s upcoming Dermablend launch, although having seen a sneaky glimpse of the new Dermablend a few months back, I was intrigued to learn more about why Vichy felt the need to create a new formulation.
3D Correction?! Say what?
This new formulation from Vichy is somewhat revolutionary to the foundation world, unlike it’s ‘mama bear’ the original Dermablend, the 3D Correction formula helps to smooth away uneven texture caused my blemishes, blackheads and scarring thanks to its weightless soft focus technology.
I can see this becoming a game changer in the big foundation world. With the original Dermablend leaving a slight wet finish, the new Dermablend 3D Correction formula feels so weightless and feather-like on the skin, you would easily forget that you had it on. Its non-cakey matte finish provides you with a non-oily, but subtle glow appearance, think instant, perfected radiance.
Skincare Infused Technology
Thanks to the combination of 3 active ingredients; Salicylic Acid combats skin imperfections, Eperulin calms irritable skin and Alliagel TM provides a “3D” soft-focus finish, lasting up to 16 hours*. Vichy has truly researched and uncovered the reason why oily skin needs a specific texture that works at it’s best whilst offering effective ingredients that work in harmony with oily/acneic skins.
Never leave the house without SPF
We all know important it is to apply SPF daily, luckily, the Dermablend 3D offers an SPF of 25, although my recommendation would be to still use a day cream with SPF, you can never rely on your makeup to protect you from the damaging UV rays.
The Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction Foundation is available in 5 solid shades, all ready and waiting for you to fall in love with. Opal is the lightest shade from the pack, slightly too light for me to use in the warm Summer months when skin is generally darker. If your use to using Porcelain shades in foundation’s, it’s definitely worth checking out the Opal shade. I was also lucky enough to get my hands on Nude, now this shade is definitely swaying to my colour, although I do like to mix a small amount of opal to create a shade I feel comfortable wearing. With its yellow undertone, the Nude shade beautifully counteracts any signs of unwanted redness and blotchiness.
Personal thoughts
Having loved the original Dermablend, It has been roller coaster of a ride getting use to the 3D formulation and texture, I do still prefer the original Dermablend, there’s something unique and enticing, it’s classic, a loved texture of millions will never be forgotten in my books, although I wouldn’t wait around blending as the dreamy mousse texture soon sinks into the skin giving you minimal time but little effort.
It will be interesting to see how successful the new 3D Correction will be, at the moment I’m 50/50 whenever or not this latest Dermablend launch from Vichy is going to cut it, I’m guessing only time will tell. You can pick up your very own tube of Dermablend 3D from Escentual here.
