Vichy Dermablend had a little revamp a while ago when the brand replaced its boring clinical-looking packaging to something a bit more up-market and sophisticated-looking.

The corrective stick (formally known as cream stick) has lost weight and looking a little more tempting than the previous old-fashioned bulky packaging. These are the products to be proud of, they will also fit perfectly in any size handbag (or man bag!)

I first heard about Vichy Dermablend a few years ago before I was a beauty blogger and remembering ordering the original cream stick for my acne scars and blemishes. Unfortunately for some bizarre reason I just couldn’t get on with it, the texture, consistency and application, so as you do I sent it back to Escentuals and luckily they accepted my reason for returning.

So, this year I decided to give Vichy Dermablend a second chance; I don’t like to write off a product completely without giving it another chance unless it gave me the most horrific reaction!

‘Blimey!’ I shouted as I applied the Corrective Stick directly onto some skin redness. Mum overheard me downstairs and replied with a giggling tone ‘what’s up?‘ I replied ‘this foundation it’s AMAZING!’. My mum knows how happy I get when I really like a product, but this time she wasn’t expecting me to jump around the house like child high on E numbers.

Considering Vichy Dermablend offers such an insane coverage but feeling absolutely light on the skin, which is quite unusual for a high coverage foundation. I tend to apply a primer before applying Vichy Dermablend as it helps to last longer on the skin, although the corrective sticks waxy formula feels promising it’s always best to prime the skin prior to applying, makeup will blend easier and look less cakey too.

My personal favourite is the Foundation Fluid. I find that you need so little product to cover an area on the skin and its so easy to use giving you that “bare skin feel”. My only advice would be is to not waste any time blending the product into the skin. I’d highly doubt you’ll need a second layering over the first layer as like I said above its insanely max coverage, perfect for hiding those unattractive flaws. I have 15 Opal which is slightly too light for my skin and 25 Nude which is actually a little dark for my skin so I mixed the two shades together creating the ideal colour for my skin.

I try not the use Vichy Dermablend everyday but when other concealers/foundations just don’t do their job, I know my skin can rely on the magic of Dermablend to cover unattractive imperfections. If you suffer from any serious skin imperfections like rosacea and melasma then its worth checking out this professional but affordable makeup range.
